Item details

Stiga's 2014 rubber designed for the new plastic ball. This rubber has a medium, blue sponge using OCS sponge technology (Oxygen Capsule System) to increase catapult effect without changing the spin ratio. The rubber has been developed with a delicate balance between the size of the air pockets within the sponge and the elastic top sheet.

  • Rubber Shrinks
I tried this rubber with a Butterfly blade. The rubber gives you very good control. It also has a very nice sound when you smash. I find that the rubber shrinks after about 2 months even though it is still glued to the blade. If anyone has tips to prevent rubber shrinkage that would be awesome.

Ive been playing with the Stiga arioc now for some time and I think its a great rubber. I really like the feeling you get when you hit the plastic balls that you dont get with other rubbers. Overall this is a rubber that is good for the attacking player and I recommend you to try it!

A medium hard rubber that has great spin control ratio, when you need a very spinny ball it will get you one, good for short game but away from the table i like it the most, i would like a bit more throw angle but that i can fix with a litle more practice :D

I have been using these rubbers together with my Infinity vps v for a while now and I'm very happy with my setup.

I have read that Airoc M is made for the new ball and I can absolutely agree that it works great together. I think it's hard to find a rubber with better control and the spiny topsheet makes it easy to put high quilty topspins on the table. It's not the fastest rubber out there but for offensive players who prefer great control I really recommend it.

What I like the most about this rubber is the control I get in my serve and returns, the top sheet together with the sponge gives it a nice feeling in the short game, you don't get the feeling that the ball bounces of the rubber like you can get with many other alternatives out there.

The rubber is really durable and because I really can't complain to much about the price either I give Airoc M five stars!

Pros
  • High Arc + Spin
  • Great Control
Cons
  • Lacks Power
Stiga Airoc M is a great rubber for producing spin with the new ball and maintaining superb control. While it lacks power it is well suited as a backhand rubber or a forehand rubber for a control spinning and more consistent attacking player. It produces a good arc and has a great safety margin on opening balls.

I did a video review with tt11 which covers most areas :D

I currently use this rubber on my backhand side using a STIGA Rosewood blade. I like how I can punch the ball with ease around the table. It is also great for blocking against top spin shots. I can lift the ball against backspin to because of the medium sponge which gives me time on the ball.

I tested Stiga Airoc M rubber a few weeks ago. I played only about 15 mins with it but here is how it felt:

The sponge felt quite soft. That was my first thought. Compared to Tenergy 05 (that I've been playing for several years with now) it was a big difference. The rubber had good spin and control but I put the speed both to "pros" and "cons". It felt like I had to hit really hard to get the same speed as with Tenergy 05 but to be honest it wasn't really that bad.

From what I've heard from my friend they have also really liked the rubber and said it's the best one Stiga has made so far. I think it fits quite well with poly ball. The rubber is certainly worth a try if you want to try something new and a bit different than Tenergys. I'm thinking of starting to play with this rubber.
