5.00 An amazing 7 ply wood offensive blade
    • Great control
    • Good speed
    • Great feel
    • Price
This is an outstanding 7 ply wood blade and one of the best offensive wood blade that you can buy. It's very well balanced with enough speed and excellent control and feel. I would put the speed in the Off-/Off range, fast enough.

My blade is 6.4mm thick which I think is perfect to allow great blocks and hits while still being flexible enough to also be great at looping. Some 7 ply wood blades in the 6.7-7.0mm range, while great at blocking and hitting, are just too stiff for my looping focused game. Thinner wood blades in the 5.8-6.0mm range loop like a dream but their blocking and hitting accuracy leave something to be desired. This blade can do it all, and do it all well.

If you prefer the feel and sensation of a wood blade vs a composite blade but want a blade that can perform as well as the best ALC blades, look no further. Highly recommended.

5.00 A Fast and Exquisitely Balanced 7-Ply Blade that Supports Many Different Styles
The DHS Hurricane Long 3 is in the OFF-/OFF category and offers great feeling and control. I was able to play FH and BH drives with high consistency. The feeling upon ball impact is prominent and on the softer side. Despite being a 7-ply blade, the Hurricane Long 3 does not feel particularly stiff and in fact offers a lot of feeling for all types of FH loops. Opening loops and loops against very heavy backspin from long pips are particularly pleasant to play and associated with a higher-than-average throw angle for H3 Neo and high spin values. My loop drives were less powerful and consistent than my usual OFF+/Hurricane 8 setup but still offered a good power-to-control ratio. The Hurricane Long 3 provides plenty of power and...

    5.00 best allwood blade
    • looks good
    • good speed
    • good control
    • absorbs moisture
    • expensive
The best allwood blade I've ever played with!.Really good blade with a sweet spot covering almost the whole playing surface!!
Driving feels good with little vibrations and the feeling is fabulous!! Using a hard tacky chinese rubber is the best with this blade,it plays good even with tensor rubber! LOOPING with this blade is just toooo good!!! its a MONSTER!.Even though its a fast blade the touchplay is not affected, the ball stays low to the net when pushing or chopping .One thing i admire in this blade is its control, its really good, blocking is and piece of cake with this blade. I dont feel it too heavy as some people said and the handle is really very comfortable and thin, but the wood absorbs moisture/sweat and the blade gains some weight....that's not a big problem,u can just lightly lacquer the handle or keep silica gel packets (absorbs moisture) in your racket case.

    5.00 Great control, Great speed
    • Great Speed
    • Great Control
    • Good Design
    • Too Expensive
    • Weak top ply
I have been using this blade for the past year, and so far I'm impressed. It has a very large sweet spot.

    Speed:
The Hurricane Long 3 offers great speed. There is no more need for me to loop with full power when wanting to kill the ball, as the blade provides great assistance in this category.
    Control:
Although the blade is marked OFF++ it is still very controllable. It offers me high speed only when I need it so my touch shots don't suffer. I can block with ease and can position the ball to pretty much anywhere i want it to go. When I play I occasionally chop to add variety to a fast attacking rally, this blade offers me excellent control when I need to chop, the ball never bounces off the bat and past the table, even when chopping a fast loop.

Overall the Hurricane Long 3 blade is a excellent blade for both all out attackers and all-round players. Offering the user great speed along with control. It has a very nice looking design. The only downside to this blade is its huge cost and weak top ply. The blade splinters easily when peeling off rubbers. Varnishing the blade is still only optional because if you pull off your rubbers with enough care, then it will remain like new.

5.00 HL3 all the feel needed with extra speed
    • Great Speed
    • Awesome Spin
    • excellent contro
    • Needs a finish
    • Soft Handle
    HL3 Review
I only have had this blade for 2 months(90g) and it overtook my waldner legend carbon as mymain blade. The reasons are simple, similar speed levels, however much better control. Rubbers I used on it were:
    H3(FH) + Joola RHYZM P(BH)

    Sriver G3(fh+BH)

Speed: this blade is fast. Now I’ve only owned afew but they range from ALL+(timo) to the waldner legend carbon(10+ accordingto donic) and this is the fastest I’ve used, however it’s close to the donic. When away from the table or close you've got enough speed to hit a winner that’s all there is to it.
Control: due to the fact the ball seems to stick to the blade forever you can effortlessly move a ball about the table, but this comes at a price, if you cannot control the spin incoming to you it will really bite in and cause issues. But if you have the techniques down and can handle the opponents spin you can use the extra residence to your advantage and either use it for extra spin or for placement.

Hardness/durability: when I first got this blade I wouldhave considered it hard but not very hard. However when replacing the rubbers it became apparent the top is VERY soft, as in varnish or replace after a fewre-glues. Due to this the hardness and durability depends on your choice of lacquer. However it is still quite a hard blade and don’t expect a super soft thing.

    Handle comments:

I sweat, A LOT, from my hands playing table tennis, and this blade handle is very ready to soak it in, now this isn’t an issuereally but don’t scratch it after playing as the wood handle when wet dents andscratches quite easily

    5.00 Weapon of all time!
    • Good sweet spot
    • Nice quality
    • Finish is great
    • Red color dies
    • Too expensive
    • Coating needed
Hi guys. I will shortly return with a review on this blade about how it plays. Before I can do this I am preparing some rubbers to out on the blade. Here is some pictures you guys can enjoy My initial thoughts about the blade is that the finish is quite smooth and the quality is top class. The sample I received of Hurricane Long 3 weighs 86g which is 4-5g less than the commercial DHS 506. The thickness is 6.48mm which is a composition of limba/ayous/red dye ayous/ayous/red dye ayous/ayous/limba. I am curious about how much difference in the playing characteristics there is going to be due to the weight difference. It is not indicated anywhere on the blade or box that the HL3 has the same High Pressure Ballonet technology that the DHS 506 has, but looking at both blades they seem similar.

I have decided to put a couple of layers of coating on both sides of the blade to prevent the top limba layer to splinter when removing the rubbers.

Then I glued some rubbers on the blade Hurricane National Blue Sponge 2.15mm 40deg in FH Tenergy 64 in BH. Here is the final result.

    Review:
This are my thoughts after playing 3 sessions with my new racket :) Total weight with rubbers 180g spot on!

    Drive
When driving with the Hurricane Long 3 the blade felt very solid, but still with a little amount of vibration. The feel is very good even with hard rubbers and I had the impression that I was in control of the ball all the time

    Loop
With the Limba as top ply of the blade it was easy topspin from both wings, because of the dwell time, giving the ball a low trajectory. The power of the blade was surprisingly high and I did not expect that at all. Very controllable even when you are trying to hit hard.

    Push
Easy peacy and you force a deadly deep push against you opponent with out doing a large movement forward.

    Service/Return
With the combination of the rubbers and blade service/return is easy to perform.
With the hurricane in FH spinny serves with out the ball bouncing to much of the blade.m which is a composition of limba/ayous/red dye ayous/ayous/red dye ayous/ayous/limba. I am curious about how much difference in the playing characteristics there is going to be due to the weight difference. It is not indicated anywhere on the blade or box that the HL3 has the same High Pressure Ballonet technology that the DHS 506 has, but looking at both blades they seem similar.
