Item details

The master class of the Nexxus series.
The GEWO Nexxus EL Pro 48 will amaze you: whether fast, powerful opening topspins or slower, spin-focused rallies: no problem with this high-end development.
You will virtually feel how the ball "digs into" the rubber.
Finally, you will be able to attack your opponent with a heavy- spin opener. Precise topspins, versatile attacking, variant-rich serves/returns - this spin-focused power rubber leaves nothing to be desired.
The grippy and flexible top rubber sheet provides for maXXimum coupling of the ball in all attacking actions.

The rubber is truly amazing. It is very spiny and very fast. Provides a reasonably good feedback. Blocking is quite hard with it. Hard-ish to keep the ball on the table with BH using this rubber. I think it would make a great FH rubber. After 3-4 months of training rubber lost it's umpf.
Pros
  • spin
  • control
  • BH play
Use it on BH of my Tibhar Cedric Nuytinck blade for about 1.5 month now... It's really great with 40+ ABS balls, with which is overall not easy to create much spin, but somehow with this rubber it really becomes easier to generate spin with this balls, also the trajectory is tends to be quite low, espessially close to the table, so it's really not comfortable for your opponent... It's show it's best qualities close to the table, "bananas", flicks are just amazing, blocks are also fantastic and precise. Far from a table it's alo plays quite nice, but you have to have at least OFF blade and put quite some power to your shot so that your topspin will be dangerous for your opponent...

All above is about BH, for me this rubber is too soft for FH, but it maybe only my own issues, I just like quite hard rubbers on FH, so I tried GEWO Nexxus XT PRO 48 on my FH about a week ago and so far like it very much, reaaly great for my FH (for BH for me it's a bit too hard, but main issue it's too fast for my BH, IMHO it's much faster than it's EL "brother") maybe write a small review for it a bit later...

Pros
  • Grippy top sheet
  • Super Spinny
Cons
  • Touch play
I switched to this rubber in December and use on both sides of my Tibhar Stratus Power wood blade.
Right off the bat, the spin from this rubber is too good, not a single complain there. Whether it be 3rd ball openings or top-spin rallies the spin is incredible.
It is also very easy to vary the spin using the rubber. So, dummies are really easy to execute - it also does well at fooling the opponent.
Speed is also very good - but I am using it on a wooden construction so I can't really get as much speed as the rubber offers.
In the department of control, you will need to be an experienced player with well developed and confident strokes to adequately utilize this rubber. That being said, if your arm is set it is pretty easy to control the ball and push it to the corners of the table even in high-speed rallies.

I have noticed that touch play is not very good - serves will often drift long and high, so will short touches if not playing with utmost concentration. But once the rally opens up you can really dominate the opponent.
Overall, the best rubber I have used.

Pros
  • Amazing spin
  • Superb control
  • Safe attacking
To me this is top spot rubber! I decided to use it for my forehand and it was best decision!
I use the 2.1 mm sponge and my attacks are precize and fast!
Serves are full of spin, even pimple out players have huge trouble bringing my serves back. When I use my chop serve, most of the players put it into the net first few times. The touch play is also excellent, the ball makes what I want it to do.
I had problems when I tryed the maxx version, that was not good - but I am too much used for the 2.1, max is just too fast for me.
The rubber stayed in its qualities for 4 months (which is half of season here) and then I decided to change to a new one.
I am very happy with this one!
