Joola introduced the Rhyzm early in the year 2012. The one I’ve tested was a MAX version in red. The rubber did not have any stamps stating ESN or Tensor. The Rhyzm has a hardness on 48 deg Shore C which is equivalent to approx. 36 deg Shore A. That is similar hardness to the Spring Sponge of T05. The top sheet has a bit of glossiness, but not like tacky rubbers. For testing I used the Aruna OFF blade and 40+ balls.

Drive
The Joola Rhyzm initially felt good. It has a nice catapult and the overall feel of the rubber was above average and firm. The control was very good and the arc was medium to high. The rubber does feel soft which could be due to the pimple structure although the sponge is reasonable hard.

Loop
When looping I could feel the Rhyzm had a good dwell time. The trajectory was similar high to T05’s and it had a very nice click sound. The combination with Hinoki outer and the Rhyzm was really good and I could easily control loops from both wings without too many errors. A feature I like was BH loop over the table.

Block
In the blocking gamewith the Rhyzm it is easy to control loops both spinny and fast ones. I felt it was very controllable and the stability was very good due to the “soft” feel the rubber had.

Flicks/Short play
The Rhyzm is a very good rubber for BH flicks. Here the softness of the rubber really came in hand helping to get grip in the ball without too much effort. Short play was also a nice with the Rhyzm. On lower load shoots the rubber became more firm which made it easy to control the balls in short play.

Conclusion
Joola has developed a nice all round rubber with the Rhyzm. It play good in most aspects of the game. What I personal like about the rubber was control it had.
You can get the Rhyzm for a reasonable price and it is a good rubber for both FH and BH.

I would recommend the rubber to the player who favors control in his/her game and who likes to stay close to the table. Power loops from mid distance is also one of its attributes. This can be done with good control without over hitting the ball.

If I had to choose between a lifetime supply of Tenergy or a life time supply of Joola Rhyzm, I would pick the Rhyzm in a heartbeat. By far, this rubber is the best I've used. The durability of this rubber is comparable to those of Hurricane. The spin, speed and power are balanced perfectly. As a mainly backhand attacker, I use this on my backhand and I am able to vary spin and power in different occasions. Definitely try this rubber if you're an attacker like me!

Overall, this is a goofd fast rubber. It is very good for the punching and counter attacking due to the power it can generate. However,I don't really like the fact that I can't produce those spinny loops as well as I could on tenergy. But,when I really go for the point and just hit through the ball, the rubber really shines you get amazing spin and speed! It can be spinny when used wiselyIt's a good rubber, worth a try. It's fast though good for backhand and forehand!

I have this on a K7 - a nice hard blade and perfectly suited to the rubber as someone else said. It works (for me) just as well on forehand and backhand. Hard-hit shot and loops travel very fast indeed, on the other hand when you get into a pushing competition with some boring defensive merchant it's just as easy to play soft and short. The only thing I do find is that drop shots tend to die into the net if you're not careful - the rubber is very slightly tacky and you need to remember that because of this the ball won't rebound off a stationary bat unless it was travelling at a speed to start with. But overall - what's not to like ?

I bought this after trying it on a friends blade and I've been in love with it since! Great for creating heavy spin shots or faster topspins, it has enabled me to get that extra kick on the ball to make it awkward for my opponents to deal with. Control definitely comes with practice. However normally I can last a season with rubbers before I notice anything, after about six months were completely gone but this might be normal for some of you.

Other than that I would highly recommend them to any attacking player out there!

Cons
  • to fast for some
I use this rubber on my forehand it's does everything I ask of it and can create heavy top spin ( with medium/low throw ) but has lots of control and spin for the short game and serves. I have two blades set up with this on my forehand and 425 on my back hand. Blades, Jolla wing passion fast and Rossskopf emotion fast. This rubber works best with a stiffer blade, I have tried it on all-round blades, its just not as good power/spin wise . Its not as quite spiny as 05 but has more control . This is just my opinion, as are all reviews.
