BUTTERFLY Ai Fukuhara ZLF Pro Review

This user has no status.
In this review, I used the new Butterfly Ai Fukuhara ZLF PRO blade along with Tenergy 05 and Globe 888. I looked into the various playing aspects of the blade as well as the rubbers. I used Stiga 40+ plastic balls during the testing. I'm still doing the video review so for the meantime, you can read my text review of the setup.

If you want something to be included in the video review, please don't hesitate to ask. I hope you like the review. :)

PHYSICAL and PLAYING PROPERTIES
BUTTERFLY Ai Fukuhara ZLF PRO

attachment.php

The Butterfly Ai Fukuhara blade comes in a cute pink-and-black box. Box is papermade, typical of Butterfly packaging. Compared to the Viscaria and Timo Boll
ALC boxes, this packaging seems more elegant looking despite the rather unique color combination.

attachment.php
The checkered pink-and-black design with the blade name and technology in center. A nifty trick was included by Butterfly, in that the blade "bed" can only be
slid downwards.

attachment.php
The round ZLF logo is deeply embedded in the backhand side of the blade handle. Nothing new, as this is also present in past Butterfly blades like the Viscaria.

attachment.php

An elongated oval-shaped embed bears the name of Ai Fukuhara with the word, PRO, at the bottom. This is similar to Butterfly Chen Chien-An Gold Medalist
Edition blade which was sold only in Taiwan.

attachment.php

The blade face shows a rather rough looking finish but is actually very smooth when touched, a characteristic of Limba wood as outer ply. The Ai Fukuhara
ZLF PRO has the same layers as the Liu Shiwen blade, but differs in ply thickness as well as blade size.

Butterfly Tenergy 05

attachment.php

The epitome of spin play. Butterfly Tenergy 05 is undoubtedly the world's most famous rubber, with its excellent spin capabilities as well as controllability plac-
ing it easily as a true classic of the modern table tennis era.

attachment.php

Tenergy 05's topsheet has a matt looking surface. Its pimples can be easily seen in the photo, which infers to the tension in the topsheet.

attachment.php

The famous "Spring Sponge" of Butterfly. Big pores can be easily seen from the sponge, which is beneficial for producing power shots and for spinning the
ball during a rally.

Globe 888

attachment.php

The Globe 888 is a medium pips produced from Tianjin, China. The one I got is a 1.8mm, with 38degrees sponge hardness.

attachment.php

The rubber seems to attract dust fairly. Notice the vertically-aligned pips.

attachment.php

The vertically aligned pips helps in producing spin, much more than the horizontally-aligned pips such as the Friendship 563.

attachment.php

The pips seem high quality and sturdy. One can notice the smaller protrusions in each individual pips, which is beneficial in gripping the ball.

attachment.php

Plastic ball era equipment. :)

Mizuno Wave Medal 3
bonus shoe review :)

attachment.php

The Mizuno Wave Medal 3 is a high quality table tennis shoes, and is looking dead-sexy.

attachment.php

The unmistakable logo of Mizuno, which signifies motion--perfect for table tennis.

attachment.php

The grip seems good during trainings--not too grippy or slippery but allowing perfect stability in play.

attachment.php

A comfortable and breathable design complements the sturdy nature of the shoes.
