Macro Era is an old generation tensor - it's been around for years. I have to cast my mind back, but I think it was very similar in construction to the original Joola Express line. It's fast, bouncy.

After PME, they released Blit'z (which is similar to Donic Acuda) and Thor's (tacky tensor).

Recently (last few months) Palio have released Aeolus, which is from the current generation of ESN rubbers. I haven't tried this one yet, but there are a few favorable reviews knocking around on the various forums. If you're thinking of something like Bluefire , this is probably the best bet, but I really don't know if Aeolus is actually closer to Tibhar 1Q, or Joola Rhyzm, or even to the latest stuff like Rakza X. Someone should really buy one and report back!

I finally got hold of a sheet of Aeolus, black, 45 degrees.

The sponge has large pores and there is a strong smell of tuner. This is very reminiscent of Bluefire M2 or Joola Maxx 450. But the topsheet is harder and stiffer than those two, while being hugely grippy like the more recent ESN stuff.

I'll be giving it a bash on Monday night. Quality looks good though.

Hey Andy I am buying MX-S and saw your review that it is a good rubber.
Might use both sides.
