I still use Aurus and it was my main FH rubber when I was in Korea. I used Aurus for 150-200 hrs, then switched it out with a new sheet. Usually, all you get out of a rubber is 80-100 hrs.

What did Der_Echte do to "take care" of Aurus? What Cake suggested. Then toss it in bat case after I was done.

My friend in teh club would then take my discarded sheet of Aurus, slap it on the FH of his Jun Mizutani, then use it for another 300 hrs or 5-6 months.

I've found some great advice using the search button. A guy made a compelling argument on sealed bags. I use a wet sponge the wipe my rubbers off after I finish playing, let them dry from the moisture, then put it back in the box away from sun light, wet places, temp drops etc. I normally put the bat in cling film even when inside it's box/cover. Every time I take it out it has that new rubber smell.
Now if I wasn't going to play for a week or two, or just take a break but want to make sure the rubbers won't perish. Get a sealed bag, or make one from cling film, make sure it's air tight (test it), put the racket inside and dip it in water to push the air out. This will seal the bag and preserve it permanently

Aerial: You get sick of that soryy-azz BH-Man and started to post here? haha.

Nah, sweat is a good thing to clean the bat. I have seen Koreans meticulously foam clean or water clean after play and use protective sheets and their rubber doesn't last any longer than my rubber does and I am a "Sweat Hog" (if any rememebrs that 70s TV show named Welcome Back Kotter)

der_ecthe--I imagine YOU are Bh-man? haha

Using sweat to clean my rubber feels so wrong though! What do you do--run your palm through the side of your head/neck and then use the palm and rub both red and black sheets??? It feels like the sweat/oil would damage the topsheet... or perhaps I'm just being paranoid?

a lot of folks get mad when I even lay a finger on their rubber talking about how fingers have oils that are hard to get off the topsheet

When you remove your rubber be sure to remove old glue layers, it will affect the overall feel/touch of the bat when you leave old glue residue on. I was a little too stingy with the glue job in those images so I had to rub the sponge and take bits and pieces of glue slowly off, but as seen in this video, it can be done very quickly.

You don't need to re-glue unless you want to use speed glue, otherwise you can re-glue if you ding you rubber when going for a push that scrapes off the sheet on the side/tip or if your rubber is old and you want to switch to a new one. Cheers!
