I have not read either book, but have watched a lot of discussion over them on the different TT forums.
I met Alex exactly ONCE in NYC at a tourney, I wasn't in his RR group in the event, but I got a pic with him.

I read both. Good reads. Yet another proof that talent is a myth, and hard work makes anything possible.

I read Breaking 2000; it was a good book, but I didn't find any revolutionary info or something like that.

I dont think there would be any info in any of the books that would revolutionize the sport, but the goal of his 2000 book was to articulate a path and organization to achieve that level, which maybe 5-10% of all US players reach. Many players lack a clear idea how to go about achieving new levels and in that respect the book would be valuable.

Yes, true; It describes how he meets his coach, sets himself the goal to reach 2000 and the path to actually succeeding with the occasional set back. Useful; reading this can give you confidence in what is possible if you work hard and and don't forget to use your brain
