In the last 2 months we have seen some fantastic table tennis across the globe including the World Table Tennis Championships in Rotterdam and the more recent China Open 2011. This match up has been chosen by you the viewers in an online poll. The direct team includes Wang Hao, Ma Lin and Ryu Seung Min. The cross team includes Ma Long, Zhang Jike and European superstar Timo Boll. The format of the competition will follow a Olympic type game. Liu Guoliang quotes, ‘ I cannot be more thankful from the support of the fans’.

This tournament has bought Timo Boll back into the equation of world table tennis as we haven’t seen him since the WTTC 2011. Its reported that Timo Boll has been signed on to participate in the China Super League but due to homeland commitments he has yet to participate.

There were 7 polls over the internet to decide the different game match line ups. The first line up would be to do an Olympic system, the second system to do three singles and two doubles and the third system to do four singles and one double. The decision was made by the majority of the fans to do the Olympic system. Liu Guoliang has thanked the fans for voting and explaining how the amazing figures for the number of votes shows the love for table tennis amongst the fans. The fans want the charm of an Olympic style system.

Wow I'm like the only one who voted Penhold? Why :p I think Ryu and Boll can only win against each other, and Ma Long loses to WH and ML would be my guess. ZJK against WH and ML I would consider equal chances. But I understand it is already played?

Timo seemed like he hadn't no chance... I think it's because of the jetlag and that he came the day before.. Not good conditions to play against very good players I think ^^
Was that everything? :(
I want more and more and more :D (Ok, I'm an official table tennis freak ^^)

P.S.: TTProvider has already 2 videos on his channel

The outcome wasn't that surprising

Ryu has no chance against Ma Long,
While Wang Hao and Ma Lin usually beat Boll.
