Focus 3 snipe is lighter and improved version of the original Focus 3. It uses mechanical grip (like European style rubbers), in order to provide spin. Well, I think if you really liked original Focus 3, that would definitely you like more.

Cornilleau Pilot Advanced: my suggestion: lie down and avoid this one. Sponge is good. Topsheet doesn't have much grab. Good for counterlooping with control or flat hitting. But not so good for looping backspin.

Same with the tour s, the top sheet is almost anti-spin

Ok. :)

On paper, based on online reviews,

Cornilleau Pilot Advance
Stiga Calibra Tour S
JOOLA Maxxx 450

But, I admit I have yet to test them in person. :)

Any Euro rubbers that match the 729s quality for the same price?

I don't think there is any Euro rubbers for the same price as 729/Chinese rubbers.....
You can go and search a few table tennis online stores and check for yourself - just sort it by price and acsending

If you get lucky you can find some first or second generation tensor rubbers for 20 to 25 EUR, but you still would probably get two 729s for that amount....
Another option could be lookin' in the different forums for some used (but still in good condition) rubbers.
