smsonov might win this

07-17-2011, 08:13 AM
Come on Marcos Freitas :D
You can do this :D

07-17-2011, 01:13 PM
Hahaaa, My vote will win I hope!
Just now Saive beat Achanta, right in great style..
He was leading 3:1 in games, hardly winning each from those 3 he got on board..
Then he completely turned off, or better.. looking at his game - turning into an experimental rythm..
Tryed some things.. lost 11:1 .. to win next game and the ticked into finals..
Anyways, I cant see him beat Samsonov, simply for that a miracle has to happen ;)

All right, its the legendary Saive and the legendary Samsonov in the final !
Old school rocks :D

07-17-2011, 03:15 PM
Oh, nooo NOOOO!!! No no .. how could this happen?
I was so happy seing Japanese women duo having 3 championship points..
And they lost 12:10 .. unbelieveable.. what a shame :(

07-17-2011, 03:24 PM
Heheeee, I just saw Vladi and Saive sitting close to each other, talking about something..
Lol .. they have to be friends :)
They even played in Royal Villette Charleroi I think.. They won Liebherr European Champions League together..
That was I think in 2000 or 2001 .. Samsonov, Primorac and Saive I think..

07-17-2011, 04:13 PM
They are talking about doing an exhibition XD

I love to see friendship inside table tennis..

07-17-2011, 04:25 PM
I hope the same!
Anyways if I would be there with some my friend, I would deal with him to play first 2 sets just exhibitions..
So that after first 2 sets it would be 1:1 .. and then we would start to play seriously..
And also when it will be obvious, that one will win, we would start exhibitions from that point again ;)
What do you think, what will they do? :)

07-17-2011, 05:55 PM
oh nooo :O
Freitas lost
Now my bet goes to J.M. Saive :D
I want him to win because he's an awsome player and a true fighter :D

SPOILER ALERT Samsonov winner of the Morocco Open 2011 :)

07-18-2011, 01:16 AM
Wow the last set was 18-16 !
They want the game back to 21 lol..

Good to se Vladi back in action !
He stays in the top tens for more than 10 years now, awesome..

07-18-2011, 02:15 AM
i knew it samsonov won

07-18-2011, 02:55 AM
But, sadly, in spite of the last game being 18-16, it was not much of a match: 4-0: 11-8, 11-8, 11-3, 18-16. I was sort of hoping Samsonov would drop the 4th game. It did not look like he really was having any trouble with Saive. Worth having respect for Saive though he has done it for a long time. But Samsonov was too much for him.

07-18-2011, 05:26 AM
I would expect Saive to give a bit more resistance, and probably even winning it. But all credit should be given to Saive too. Reaching the final was not as plain sailing as people might think, especially at his age. Saive is a heck of an example to other fellow professionals.

07-18-2011, 06:56 AM
Even if Samsonov won 4-0, it was a great match. I mean J.M. Saive played very good rallies and also exhausting rallies!
It's good to see that Saive keeps playing and having fun even if people think that he should retire at his age. Why? If you still can have fun in table tennis and reach some finals? :D

07-18-2011, 12:28 PM
I would say the game is some what close, especially for the first two game. However, Saive was getting distracted after he is not allowed to change his cloth at the beginning of the 3rd game. This does cost him for that lost in 11-3. But you can see that he is able to make himself come back, it just that Samsonov has way too stronger mentality than him.

This is from TT Provider from finals..

That video is great :D
Thanks for sharing! Awsome Saive ;)

the last game was everending but i guess samsonov was just toying with saive in the end
