Jean Michel Saive known as the fighter has retired at the age of 46. Belgiums hero Saive has retired from International competition and made his announcement at the National Olympic Committee yesterday in Brussels. Saive will continue to play for his club and also compete in the prestigious ITTF Legends Tour and will take part in exhibitions.

Jean Michel Saive expressed, "prior to the European Games in Baku I thought it would be no problem taking part in committee work and play competitively. However after a couple of World Tours trying to qualify for the Rio Olympics I realised you cannot be part time and you must be 200% committed.
