TLDR: "Beginners" should use something like T05FX or Vega Japan, "experienced" players will benefit from hard and/or tacky rubbers.

The key is matching the tangential speed of the surface of the ball. That will always work regardless of the rubber.
The other factors are minor in comparison to matching the angular velocity of the ball with the tangential paddle speed.
If there is excess tangential paddle speed then the paddle needs to be closed up to avoid hitting the ball too high.
