They both have a similar, 50 degree sponge, and their topsheets are super-grippy and have zero slip with plastic balls. The main difference is the topsheet softness, with OVA's topsheet being a lot softer.

MX-S has a medium-low throw, and requires you to be in a good position to produce a quality shot. If you already have good movement and solid technique, MX-S is a great rubber. If you're out of position it's harder than you might expect to generate good arc because the whole package lacks catapult (from both sponge and topsheet). This gives it other great qualities of course, and your technique may differ from mine making this a non-issue (NextLevel has recommended getting around the side of the ball to ensure good lift, for example).

OVA's softer topsheet has a little more snap and catapult, although it's still a very linear and solid rubber. When driving or hitting flat (or blocking heavy shots), the feel can be a little vague because the topsheet is soft and feels less precise, and some players have commented that they don't like the feel. It's also a bit slow on flatter contacts, which may or may not be your thing, and works better when close to the table for basic drives. OVA's strength is the brush loop - when you get the topsheet working with heavy brush, the spin and arc are excellent. Although it isn't tacky, it suits a brush looper very well (if you're used to playing H3N, you'll know what I mean). However, it can be tiring to brush so much, especially from distance, and you sacrifice speed for spin.
