World Ranking suggestions

Dear TT Friends,

ITTF is wishing to create a new World Ranking system for singles and teams as well.

What do you think what would be the best solution which is better understandable for the media, fans and also encourage the players to participate at the events.

Feel free to post your suggestions until the end of May!

I think ITTF should use rating and not ranking
simply put it, top 20 players on world ranking or not necessary the best 20 players in the world.
But I understand that ranking points forces players to take part - but this does end up skewing the actual ranking

Just look at U15 - Japan owns the world in junior level?

The current world rank system is based in ratings.

I should of added, rating as in rating central
takes into account rating point from not only world events.

I think it's hard to handicap each competition, maybe it isn't viable.
