it's like the worst draw possible for ZJK, he'll need to beat players that he had tons of trouble with in the past, Chen Chien An -> Stefen Fegerl -> Ovtcharov, all of them have defeated him recently.
Do you think the draw is arranged somehow? (in order to maximize the chance that ZJK can't reach the final, and the final will be China vs world to make it interesting)

If ZJK is actually awake and trying to play, it shouldn't matter who is on his side of the draw. I mean, think about it, those guys are not as tough as Ma Long and, ultimately, he would have to face Ma Long.

If he is actually playing for keeps, motivated and has his game face on, nobody but Ma Long has a chance. If he is not, then him losing is a good thing for the sport.

If China gets less than 2 medals it will be a big upset. And it would be refreshing to see something shake the pot a little.

It would be a great surprise/inspiration if ZJK loses to dima or vladi, maybe europe players especially the younger ones will start to have more confidence against the chinese from then on

So if he zhi wen doesnt make a huge upset, ZJK will probably face chen, lee sang su, fegerl or wong chun ting and after wards dima or vladi. Very tough draw for sure but I think it is good for him he will be forced to be alert from the very beginning.

Im not saying ma long's draw is easier but comparing their mentalities, ML always goes out guns blazing no matter the opponent so the only possibility of a surprise would be timo boll

I just cant see mizutani or chuang making an upset they seem to lose their composure and making poor decisions in close matches.

Increddible news: Timo Boll has been selected to carry the German flag at the Rio 2016 opening ceremony!

Well deserved!!! Even though I feel he is passed his prime, he still works hard and always puts up a good fight while staying so humble. A great roll model for younger generations to follow.
