Have your say!

If you could ask one question to Timo Boll what would it be and I will try to get it to him! :)

Keep the questions coming, it might be to do with his 2 month trip to China? or when he was a young kid.

Is there any specific strategy or stroke u learned during ur stay in China that causes the Chinese players significnatly more trouble than the strategies and strokes u used against them in previous occasion? (feel free to re-phrase it Dan, my English isnt as good as I'd want haha)

Timo, how much did you train when you were young (10-18years old) + what exercises did you do to get better like physical and table tennis exercises + can you give some good tips or tactic for a left-handed player thank you very much for the effort ;-)

Herr Boll, do you not feel a bit unlucky with being so good now and not in the 90's? Because now it's you vs 6 chinese (in the top 10, and 1 will join them soon, Yan An) and they are almost only focussing on how to beat you. The 2nd best non-chinese is Mizutani, but he is at the moment not really capable on beating them yet. I feel unlucky in your place... such a shame, you should've been world and olympic champion already, but hey, there are still chances!

Since Timo is a big advertisement for Butterfly products, I wonder why he sticks with the Boll ALC, while you can read & hear everywhere the more expensive ZLF or ZLC (with or without "InnerForce") is so much better?
One would think the TOP sponsored Butterfly player would play with the best (and thus most expensive) equipment available?

I'd also like to know what Timo's hobbies are. What does he spend his time on when not playing TT?
Is he married, does he have children, has he got a college or university degree, what's his favourite food, does he like dogs or cats, what time does he go to bed at night, what's his favourite drink/food, what's his favourite training exercise (everyone has one)... ?

Cool questions! Heres a bit on Timo Boll and his family :) http://www.tabletennisdaily.co.uk/forum/content.php?312-Timo-Boll-s-Wife-is-having-a-Baby

Timo Boll what is a good diet that you have for table tennis?
Timo what are some good drills to stick to and some bad ones to stay away from?
Timo what type of physical do you do before or after training?
Timo how much do you train and what do you train(what drills)?

This is what I would like to ask :
How did you get your back injury, was it a specific technique flaw , if so , what or was it just stress related ? What did you do to overcome it ? Did you change your looping technique or just plain strengthened your back muscles etc ...

Also , after playing in China do you think the whole experience improved you as a player ?

Because timo stroke requires alot of hip rotation but when he hits his feet are facing the table which puts alot of pressure on the back. also he brings his shoulder down to loop which tears down the back after awhile

Interesting. Im looking forward to asking boll this question myself due to my back reasons. He must have the best specialists in the world helping him and he still has problems...

Awesome questions tho everyone, keep them coming :)

I would like to ask Boll who he thinks will be the next Waldner/Boll. Or just who of the non-Chinese players, he feels will be the most promising.

And who out of the Chinese does he think is the most gifted, or best player. Something similar to the question asked to Werner Schlager in that video interview posted in another thread. Its just really interesting and revealing to hear what the pros actually think and feel about their opponents. Ma Lin doesn't always get the respect he deserves, and yet you start to appreciate his mastery of his style more, when you hear pros like Schlager and Henzell praise his play.
