FH Practice Without Table

I haven't been able to get to a club very consistently lately and want to still improve. Harsh has me working on my FH - creating a whip action and a faster stroke with better recovery and quicker back swing. So I realized my heavy curtains in my spare room would stop the ball from hitting the window too hard. I can do the same thing in hotel rooms while I'm traveling, so hopefully this helps me develop my touch and spin with more powerful mechanics. Sorry for the bad camera angle, gotta work with what I got :p

I believe this device might help. It has a spinning ball attached at the end which help develop one's touch in looping/chopping and allow you to see how much spin you can generate with your strokes. I think this may work better (closer to looping a real ball) than a spinning wheel but personally I have not tried any.

I built one by putting a wire through a ball. It helped me and the kid I built it for. I am going to build one again for my forehand as well.

Good idea. But may i ask through how many packs of balls you go per month? I think Waldner´s method from NL´s Link may be a little more "ball-friendly"

That really looks interesting. Maybe i should order one for our club. Thanks for posting, Turbo.
In fact it reminds me a little of Hanno´s Spinball

Here are two short vids about usage

Good thinking!

Great idea, practising anything definitely helps if you can't get to a table.
I have been working on my brushing for topsping FH and BH in my bedroom. Better than not doing anything! If nothing else, it gives you the confidence to try it later when you do get to a table.
Hope the videos work, first attempt
You know you're doing it ok when you don't smash the little holder out of place, but it just makes a nice brushing sound. Plus, when several balls have gathered on the bed and the next nice spinny one lands, you can really hear it spin.
