Hi guys ;)

Should we apply a glue layer before the glue layer? I've seen so many vids of people aplying booster after a glue layer, but only on chinese rubbers. Do that rule only aplies to chinese rubbers? It' because where I play, all my mates say to apply booster first and only glue after(I use Tenergy 05 on both sides)

Thanks in advance and sorry for bad English guys :D

Viva!

Obrigado Massa! Abraço! ;)

But I suppose some brands of glue are impermeable when dried, so how does the booster will penetrate the rubber with a impermeable layer of glue?

Makes no sense guys. Booster have to go right into the sponge for the right and best effect. If you put on glue first you close up the sponge and the booster can't get in the sponge. I'm boosting like that since always and tried it once like shown in many tutorials on the internet with glue first. And ok there was an effect but not that effect as without glueing first. My tip, no glue first!

I have tried many different ways to boost . With H3 the best method I found was to put 1 layer of booster directly on the sponge and let it soak in, then I put 3 thin layers of wbg and finish with 2 to 3 thin layers of booster. The reason I settled on this method is if you just boost the sponge it will dome and then is hard to glue the sponge unless you let it set for several days to flatten back out and that means the booster is evaporating. With ESN and Tenergy I glue first and generally only put 1 layer of booster over glue. That's my method, other people probably have their own way.

In general, water based glue glue before boosting makes it harder for the boost to sink deep into the sponge. Major benefit: lowers the chance of ruining the rubber - hello bubbled up top sheet.

Practical advice. There are really two cases here:

Case 1: Well known booster + rubber combination. If people have been using a given rubber together with a given booster a ton, it's easy to find methods that have been tested countless times. Using one of these time tested methods is usually a safe starting point.

Case 2: not so well known booster + rubber combination. Not knowing what's going to happen for sure, if you don't want to risk destroying your rubber, just put glue first!
