of course illegal. Few years ago some rules have changed about playing with finger, it is legal now on one circumstance that you hold the racket with this hand. If the racket is not in your hand you cannot play.
There was a situation I think about one year ago when FZD was smashing ball and XX was far away. With his smash FZD lost the racket which went far away, XX with high lob put the ball on the table, and FZD couldn't do anything just wait for the ball and go for the racket. If playing with hand was legal he would definitely did it.

actually it is the cheapest one, anyone and everyone can afford it
Disagree.

The cost of replacement can easily cost someone an arm and a leg. [emoji14] [emoji14] [emoji14]

The player immediately showed to the umpire that he hit the ball with the hand, so the point goes to the opponent.
You can hit the ball with the racket and the playing hand up to your wrist. Somehow like that is the rule.
And definition of the playing hand is - the hand that holds the racket. So if you lose the racket, you do not have playing hand anymore, so you are f**ked :D
