Chinese National Championships has began! :) 5th - 13th October 2011

The Chinese National Table Tennis Championships is the largest event before the London 2012 games. We can use this thread as a means for all the latest results, news and videos from this spectacular.

The championship is in full scale with 32 teams and 385 players. The tournament is divided into seven events including Men and Women Singles, Men and Women Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and Men and Women Teams.

If anyone knows a livestream, feel free to post it here ;) I guess it will be another epic fight with all the Chinese players without injuries. Can someone stop Ma Long's winning streak? xD Would be unbelievable if he won this too.

So who do you think will win?

Seedings:

Men:
1. Wang Hao - People's Liberation Army
2. Zhang Jike - Shandong Luneng
3. Ma Long - Beijing
4. Ma Lin - Guangdong
5. Wang Liqin - Shanghai
6. Xu Xin - Shanghai
7. Chen Qi - People's Liberation Army
8. Hao Shuai - Tianjin

Women:

1. Li Xiaoxia - Shandong
2. Guo Yan - Beijing
3. Ding Ning - Beijing
4. Guo Yue - Liaoning
5. Liu Shiwen - Guangdong
6. Wu Yang - Shanxi
7. Fan Ying - Jiangsu
8. Cao Zhen - People's Liberation Army

Hard to say who will take the crown this year...
It won't be Wang Hao or Wang Liqin, I'm confident. Probably not Chen Qi either.
Xu Xin has an outside chance, and Ma Lin is unpredictable.
If Hao Shuai plays like he did at Austrian Open, he may cause some upsets, but I still can't imagine him winning the whole thing.
Ma Long's had a short and impressive winning streak, however these streaks don't usually last. Although I believe he's the best player in the world, he may not be able to win this time.
Yan An is not listed in the top 8, but I believe he will reach the quarterfinals, and is capable of causing an upset against any opponent.
So, the winner in my view will be either Zhang Jike or Yan An.

Wouldn't bet on it though, got to love Chinese champs ;)

ma long...inconstant...
wang liqin... my idol but...this isn't a good moment for him
ma lin... unpredictable
wang hao... similar to WL... this isn't a good moment for him
xuxin, chen qi, hao shuai...definitely NO
Yan an... perhaps could be a sorprise but no enough to win
so... zhang jike is the more regular... son i think that must be the more optioned

Thanks for updating/completing the thread Dan (assuming it was u :D). Good to see the photo of the winner there ;) Let's hope someone will find a stream. I can't imagine anyone else than Ma Long or Zhang Jike winning it at the moment. But as always, anything is possible.

I think it will be a battle between ML and ZJ too and hope it will be the better ending for Ma Long :D
But Wang Hao can reach his top level very fast, that is incredible. Watch chinese trials and then WTTC. It's like you are watching another player ....:p
Ma Lin is really unpredictable but if he will meet Zhang it's game over for him

@chalo_sterling ML inconstant? that is a joke, isn't it?

Hehe not to worry :)

Well spotted lol.

Yeah your right, the current best form players are Ma Long and Zhang Jike... but I feel maybe Wang Hao or Xu Xin will do very well this time round. We will see.

I hope we get a good live stream from somewhere

Of course anything can happen and any the top players on the Chinese team can beat any other player on a given day. But it does look to me like Ma Long and Zhang Jike seem to be the front runners. Zhang Jike somehow seems to dig deep for the bigger tournaments. But I also agree that Yan An is playing great and has potential to surprise some people.

It must be online somewhere!

That is what I want to know as well. Someone at my club told me last night and I forgot which site it was. But they definitely have it on the web somewhere.

Well, I just read this article:

http://tabletennista.com/2011/10/2011-chinese-national-championships-ms-qua/

And according to that, the semifinals are set. They will be:

Ma Long vs Zhang Jike
Ma Lin vs Wang Hao

Quarterfinal results:
Zhang Jike took care of Chen Chi
Ma Lin won against Wang Liqin in a match that went the 7 game distance.
Wang Hao took out Yan An
and
Ma Long won against Li Ping

Xu Xin and Hao Shuai got nocked out before the quarterfinals.
