The World Tour circuit now moves onto the Czech Open. Last weekend saw Dimitrij Ovtcharov take the title defeating Kenta Matsudaira in the Bulgarian Open final. Ovtcharov has not entered the Czech Open, his team mate Timo Boll has entered as the number 1 seed. We have a lot to look forward to this week, the Czech Open is an unpredictable open event with a new ball system called 'Multi Ball's being used for the first time in a world tour series. This is where an umpire can throw more balls to a player during the match to save time picking up the previous ball, this is to speed up play and hope to make table tennis more appealing to TV viewers. This method has been adopted in the Chinese Super league, lets see how it shapes up in the World Tour this week! The prestigious tournament will take place in Olomouc and begins on the 22nd August and concludes on the 27th August.

Total number of entries so far is: 274

With the Chinese not participating, the tournament is pretty open! Everyone can beat each other in the top 5 line up! In form number 2 seed Kenta will look to maintain momentum from the recent Bulgaria Open. Timo Boll recently reached the final of the China Open and will be looking to take the title. Simon Gauzy will look to go all the way. Japanese sensation Harimoto who recently turned 14 years of age has entered as the number 4 seed and will not go down without a strong fight. Filus, Kristian Karlsson, Stefan and Hugo make up the next lot of seeds! A lot of look forward to peeps!

Pretty good lineup with the European top players. Ok no Ovtcharov but I think he just doesn't want to play again vs. Timo again :D But all in all an interesting seeding of players. My vote goes to Timo. Hugo Calderano seems to be in a good shape in the past week. Won in the German league both games against Filus and Wang Xi. Maybe he can keep going!

I hope Kenta Matsudaira win the Czech Open, he is my favourite. I know Timo Boll is the leader and he have the biggest chance to be Champion in Czech. Good luck

Timo's form recently is quite good. The other thing is experience he has - it helps him a lot especially with young players like Harimoto. Of course Simon Gauzy has his chance and Kenta but still it would be a surprise if they defeat Timo.
Chinese are rather quite poor this time, so I do not think any of them reaches next round.

Nice comeback from Timo! But seriously guys... This serves from Xue Fei are so false... I can't get it that the referees aren't judging that!

He does literally everything wrong! The height, the open palm, throwing it backwards and hiding it with his body...
