Two seeds per country. FZD will take the gold easily. But I am not so sure about the silver. LGY is strong, but the Japanese, Korean and Chinese Taipei players all have a chance against him. It will be interesting. I hope Niwa Koki will shine this time, I am waiting for the spectacular extremely risky shots.

Everyone has good and bad days. If FZD is on, he is much better than everyone else. But, if he has a bad day and someone has a good day, we could have a surprise. I won't bet on it. But they play the games for a reason. :) Statistics don't play the games. :)

fzd is beyond of reach for anyone else besides ML. Of course bad day can happen but it usualy is in china superleague. I do not remember when last time FZD lost in international games to someone besides ML. Ok maybe he lost to XX of FB but they do not play here.
Of course important is the lineup. we do not know who probably he meets in final. LGY has the ranking 8 among this players so it is possible he will meet FZD or JM in second round.

Can anybody tell me why the teams do not have their best players in this tournament? Is it held by ITTF?

Asian Cup is a qualification tournament for the World Cup. As World Champions, ML and DN are already qualified for the World Cup.
For Asian Cup, the Cup holder (XX 2016) and Asian Champion (FZD 2017) are qualified automatically. Up to 2 players are allowed from each association and substitution is allowed.

Fzd lost to Chen chein An first round in decider[emoji27]. Really upsetting. My coach has gone there to watch and just informed me about it.[emoji26]
