DHS HURRICANE LONG ARYLATE CARBON is usually called Ma Long 1. It's old generation.
Ma Long 2 and 3 are 7-ply all wood, used by ma long a few years ago.
Ma Long 5 is the latest.

Long 1 and Long 5 are completely different.
Long 1 is 5+2 outer blue ARYLATE CARBON. It's like a DHS version of Timo Boll spirit. (At that time, Ma Long is using TB Spirit） With Koto outter ply
Long 5 is 5+2 inner yellow ARYLATE CARBON. With Limba outter ply It's more of DHS original.
The feeling between Long 1 and Long 5 is quite different. (just like Long 5 and Viscaria)
I think 3 is better than 1 regarding overall performance. (Still they are quite different)
If you ever thinking of buying Long 1, you can buy a TB spirit / Viscaria / TB alc or any other similar butterfly outter ALC blades.
