Hello,

I'm new in the forum and I'm a huge Ma Lin fan. I know he stopped playing table tennis in 2013 but he was one of the best tennis players.
I'm very interested in his blade. I really want to know what blades he used.
I read that he first used the Yasaka Gatien Extra and changed then to Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive, but other sites say that he used the Yasaka Ma Lin Carbon. On pictures with a good quality you can see that his handle is the grip from the Ma Lin Extra Off.
I'm a little confused. On another site I read that he used the Ma Lin Extra Off. as blade and the Ma Lin Carbon as handle. Is that true? Can anyone tell me which blade he really used? Sorry for spelling mistakes

Thanks for any answer :)

Yes, Ma Lin used Extra at earlier times. Changed to Extra offence near 2008 Beijing Olympics.

He kept using Extra Off till the end of his Career.

And yes, he used a Extra Off blade with a carbon Ma Lin Carbon handle.

Here are the pics. The blade are clearly Extra off, but changed handle to Carbon

Are those photos from speed glue era? I like those shades at the edges of the rubbers.

I think it's a speed glued Bryce. Wang Hao used a Bryce sponge with a Sriver topsheet. Maybe Ma Lin has it the other way around :D

Yes, and in water glue era, Ma Lin still use Extra off. But slightly thicker. (5.9-6.0mm comparing with 5.7-5.8 before)

My brother have Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive ( thickness 6,0 ) and i must say that this is very fast blade. Excellent for fast attacks from over the table. But this blade is little hard in touch play.

It's pre-blue sponge
