The April 18 ITTF Rankings still seem a fraud to me. When will they be accurate?

Nah, that would have been truly fraudulent. I think Quadri Aruna is clearly the best player in the world, why is he so low on the rankings?
You’re right NL, M.Maze should have been second after Quadri Aruna! Sorry my bad...

Someone probably understands this new system to answer the question of when it will make srnse based on how often top plauers ate in tournaments that count.

(Not me).

Hey Guys! This is my first post, sorry for my poor English, I'm still learning about this language.

What do you think about positions of players in the actual World Tour Standings, can show better the real position about players level?...Ovtcharov, of course, is not the usual, even Mizutani Jun, but the others...

I don't think ML and ZJK were born in 1998. WR1 at 11 years is a stretch.

The new system will be fully populated after one year. If top players choose to play fewer than eight events then it will still be "a fraud" to anyone who doesn't accept that playing at minimum eight events is now a requirement for a top ranking.

IMO it's a reasonable requirement. Competing eight weeks out of 52 doesn't seem impossible. ATP for example counts 19 tournaments, four of which last two weeks. So to get full credit a top tennis pro has to compete 23 weeks a year.

Why should Ma Long even care about his world ranking? No matter what it is, if he participates in a tournament he is the favorite to win it. WR #7 or WR #1, it does not matter.

Because seeding affects your draw and who you meet in earlier rounds, and this is quite important for China's strategic approach to the WTTC. With the current world rankings, Ma Long can meet Fan Zhendong in the quarter finals of that event.
