A huge congratulations to Harimoto who breaks the top 10 barrier, we are pretty certain this was on his to do list. What do you think of the new World Rankings for this month?

Omar Assar is remarkable, steady at 17. Also: Calderano’s steady march forward, and the unbuckling resilience of Vladimir Samsonov.

Ding Ning on the decline is also noteworthy. She lost to an outstanding Soo recently, but all appearences I’ve seen I thought her solid regardless.

And I expected Bernadette Szocs there.

It's also nice to see Filus Ruwen steady at 21.
Modern defense players have still chances to be at the top.

Ma Long at 6? That was unexpected

How many event results does Ma Long have? Anyone know if/when he will have 8 results? Is there anyone else in the top 10 with less than 8 results?

ML has only 7, but wouldn't matter even if he had 8. He is too far away from the top of the pack.

Strange that these data seem to be not easily available. A visualisation of that dataset of player results, perhaps using a sliding time window, does not look that hard.
