Anybody saw new chinese players in the torunament? Who are they?
Besides Xu Ruifeng (the only one I know) who already reached 3rd round, all of them were beaten in qualification stage or 1st round.

Zeio posted on this already. According to an article, China is allowing (provincial) clubs to play in ITTF challenger tournaments as part of its strategy to adapt to the new ITTF rankings.

Do note that many of them are the same age as Harimoto. In the past, they would've spent 2 more years honing their techniques before seeing the daylight.

It's funny to hear the Chinese supporting crowd(the majority here) chanting in Cantonese followed by Mandarin, and the Japanese supporters cheering on.

This match highlights the reason Morizono pales in singles. His receive game is monotonic. It's all chiquita, nothing else. It turns into a disadvantage near the end of every game.

True but according to his wining ratio in german league ( one od the best) it is not easy to beat him. This banana flick is very good he openes the game very quickly and the placement is most of time surprising.

He is JNT, and he made the final here so that is not really zeio's point. Zeio's point is more about why he cannot get above those ahead of him in JNT. Even with surprising chiquita, once the opponent is always waiting for topspin they play faster as all they have to do is get to the ball and you have to be able to beat them in the rallies and Morizono is not even the more powerful player. Even Fan doesn't play this way anymore.

I do not remember when last time he played jnt. Maybe this is the reason why they cancelled him, although this chiqita make him one of the best doubles player.

National team is sometimes thought of by some people as only the core players, but generally speaking, the top 6 - 12 players or so depending on country are national team players and maybe the top 3 - 5 are the core team. Morizono is top 6-12 players in Japan.

Morizono is on the national team. The number and list of members changes every year. There are 9 for 2018, the highest in recent years. Morizono is currently last by his April ranking, who has been moving between the national team and the reserve team constantly.
