Is Hurricane 3 different from H3 Neo without the tune layer?

Hi all,

Would I get the same performance from boosted Hurricane 3 instead of a boosted Hurricane 3 Neo(after remove tune layer)?

I heard that H3 is tackier than H3Neo so if boosted would have a better performance?

Thanks in advance! [emoji6]

Best Regards,
Eduardo

In my case, they feel otherwise identical, except the layer.

Yes, the topsheet of H3 commercial is tackier than H3 Neo commercial. Not a whole lot but there's a slight difference.
Both boosted and H3N without the layer, which one would be fastest?

I've used Falco Long on both and they play very similar. The non-Neo may be a little bit better at lifting backspin.

(I've just switched to provincial Neo)

Yeah, maybe Provincial BS version would be more similar, because sponge and hardness are the same for both (39/40/41) And H3 non-Neo BS would be cheaper. And the Commercial versions, I think the H3 sponge is harder than H3N.

I think that you misunderstood me. I've used H3 Commercial and H3 Neo Commercial in parallell for about 5 months and they play very similar to me. Maybe non-Neo being a bit mot tacky.

I've just switched to Neo Provincial BS and it's extremely different.

All for rubbers treated with Falco Long (i.e. same number of layers and roughly the same drying time).

It seems it depends on the particular rubbers you got. In my case, my H3Neo (commercial) was way less tacky then H3 commercial. Could you lift a ball with your h3Neo?

FH - No issues. Very similar.
BH - My BH sucks so I can't really comment on that. I've doped myself with 729 B2 instead and can pretty much lift anything ;)

I did understant you! I was talking about H3 NEO Provincial BS and H3 Non-NEO Provincial BS, that the sponge should be the same(#22), and the commercial versions, the H3 Non-NEO would be slightly harder!

I was saying that the people that use Blue Sponge, using H3 non-NEO Provincial BS would be a cheaper option, because the sponge is the same of NEO provincial BS version!

It's not only the tack.
Though the two topsheets of H3 and H3N seem to have a lot of similarities, they are quite different.
The topsheet of the H3 would probably survive a nuclear blast and seems very close to indestructable to me whereas the H3N's topsheet is a bit more delicate.
After a week of usage it looked as if i've put out a campfire with it. That's quite the opposite to my old H3prov. which i've used for about nine months and is still looking better than the H3Nprov. (both are blue sponge versions).

Well I don't know my version( a friend gave me 2 sheets, he's using also ) but then isn't a cheaper option ahah

Not sure if we understood each other about what lift we are talking. What I meant is not like flipping the ball over the net, but lifting the ball vertically when pressed into the rubber.
Put the ball on the table, press the racket horizontally on it and lift the racket vertically. If the rubbers are really tacky, the ball should stick to them and you should be able to lift the ball vertically for some good 3 seconds or so... Ii could do this with H3, but not with my H3Neo. I can lift the A4 sheet of paper with my H3Neo

I've seen hundreds of (commercial)Hurricane sheets over the years, and unfortunately the variation between sheets is huge. The biggest variation is sponge hardness... it varies from very soft to 'hard as a rock'. The neo versions suffer from this too, but the variations seem less. In general the neo are softer and the topsheet less tacky, and of course they have that thin glue layer on the sponge.

Haggisv is right, as usual if anyone ever read any of his posts over the years, anyone would know for themselves.

H3 Comm without tuner is dead as a doornail. Tuned the right way AND given the right impact, it is a monster. The pre-tuned H3s are way better than the untuned H3 Comm rubbers, but you still gotta have the right impact, some tune the tuned ones too.

I do not have the impact for H3 on my FH, so I don't use it there. I have the impact for H3 on my BH, and yeah, I can use H3 on BH, have a few bats with H3 on my BH, but I prefer either a control rubber or a modern control dynamic rubber on BH.

Why not? Do you observe any difference between Falco on chinese/eur rubber? Or between Falco and other boosters?

...
Falco is a water based booster which has a way (comparaitively) larger effect on softening than actual boosting properties, hence they claim effects last longer due to the placebo effect of softening.

Oppositely, oil based boosters like Kailin and TRF are known to soften the sponge comparativeless than Falco, which is more suitable in retaining the hard sponge properties of Chinese rubbers while adding a significant performance boost.

..?

Good to know. Sorry for the dots, that's what forum adds to the end of my every post if I use latest Firefox browser, I have no control over it (unfortunately not the only glitch you can see in this site's engine;)
