Hello all,

First of all, I don't want to open the common thread about boosting with Tenergy results. Sorry if I do. I've already done it and I liked(Tenergy 05), and I've searched about this and I would like to know your experience.

With Falco Longterm Booster, Tenergy 05 with 1 layer has an awesome performance. I've tried some time ago with Tenergy 64 and the I got disappointed with the result. The rubber got too soft and mushy and too low throw(with also 1 layer). What I would like to ask is, maybe because this booster softens up too much the sponge, what would be a good alternative to boost a Tenergy 64 or Tenergy 80?

I have some suggestions and would like to hear people that tried with different boosters:

- Dandoy Bio Booster(Seems thin booster, maybe the best option);
- Kailin Oil (Heard that Zhou Yu uses it on his backhand);
- LIDU Oil;
- (Know that seamoon or dianchi are not good options by what I've searched, but please if you had good experience with them please post it here);
- X-Treme Power Booster.

Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Eduardo Bagarrão

You could have accidentally applied a layer too thick, which made the rubber too mushy. You can try once more, but with a very thin layer. For mid-hard rubber it takes very little booster to stretch it.

Now that you say it, maybe you're right. I've did that sometimes thinking that would give more stretch to sponge( was inexperienced in boosting that time ) and with 05, maybe was not so much problem. But maybe I've did that with 64 and that was the result. Thank you ;)

The sponge is the same, only the pip structure of the top sheet is different, so my guess is it is something you did in application that was different.

Because 64 have more distance between pips, has softer feeling and should be easier to overboost it

It's been a really long time since I used it, but I also found T64 to be a little faster and a little lower in throw. When T05 first came out a lot of people found it really hard to get used to and T64 made a good transition to that super high throw. After playing with t64 for a few weeks, suddenly T05 was pretty straightforward, whereas switching from any ESN rubber from about 10 years ago to T05 was a shock to the system. A lot of people I know who used T64 on all-wood blades switched to T05 on composite blades in 2014 when we all started playing with 40+ balls in my city.

In any case, I wouldn't expect booster to make T64 to play dead if it worked well for you on T05. If anything it ought to make it super-bouncy.

Thank you ;) Yeah maybe I've overboosted it for sure and felt too soft and mushy. Yeah that's another thing. Seen much people to change to Tenergy 05 from 64 in 40+ era. That's another reason that I prefer to stay safe and buy Tenergy 05 to backhand next season because I'm used to and it's more safe. But I'll change from Viscaria to Allwood so it's all about trying different material and combinations outseason!!
