Because they weren't invited to the Asian Cup earlier this year and in order to be invited to the WC you need to be place in places 1-7 at the Asian Cup.

I'm glad Kanak Jha got into one of the easier groups, with Gauzy and Aruna. This way, he at least has a chance.
Group A is a nightmare: Calderano, Samsonov, and Lebesson.

Mostly he will waste all his energy in shouting “CHO!” out loud after each point and lose to someone.

Calderano's serves are illegal. He leaves his free arm extended after the high toss, never does remove it.

Ravil

I don't think so. You can see the contact point and the toss is clean. The free hand though extended doesn't hide the contact point.

Yesssss . Timo did it  It was a very spectacular game , Also timo's victory made it more enjoyable . Really I dont know if harimoto will get better than this or not but he played really well vs timo . If he gets better he's gonna be a Monster for sure .....

I’m in disbelief. I’ve never seen Timo played so aggressive before. He moves as better as anytime in his career at 36 years age. What a pleasant surprise!

I see real change in HT’s game in the right direction. Keep it going HARIMOTO

Tbh, I feel like he always holds back a little bit when he plays against Dimitri, maybe because he is a close friend - I don't know.

But rewatch the point in the 2nd set from 10-5 to 10-6. How he moves in this extent with ducking/dodging, whatever you want to call it. I have only seen this type of moving by much younger players or by Timo Boll frequently around 6 years ago (e.g. 2012 Olympics) :) Footwork however looks bad, especially wide balls, maybe injury on one leg.

Marked difference? I actually disagree. If anything, FZD is known for his consistency. Where I agree with you is that he sometimes plays Chinese style and tries to hammer you with early attacks. But FZD is really at his best when he plays the Euro-looping style and relies on his consistency, power and Chinese technique to just abuse the opponent.

I think he has basically built the fitness now with Wang Hao's coaching to play that way at will. If LJK builds that fitness at well, their matches will be interesting in the future.

pls don,t argue and angry with each other, enjoy table tennis is the main thing, Chinese is helping other countries, they send a lot coaches and players outside , hoping that the other countries and catch up . It is not a crime to win all the time, the other countries should try hard to catch up. Look at this way, we try to enjoy to see if other countries to beat the Chinese, if not , we should just enjoy the game. FZD plays good table tennis, Timo has a very good experience, they both good players.

I'm not trying to argue with you, just to prove a point. Just because one country dominates a sport, does not make it boring to watch.

Case in point, FZD, Xu Xin, Ma Long, Wang Hao, Ma Lin are all Chinese players, but each has very unique style. I enjoy watching them all. I don't let the fact that they are all Chinese get in the way of me enjoying the sport.

Is it just me or is FZD tactically more like Ma Long now?
During the match with Lin Gaoyuan, it was really obvious that FZD had trouble in the first two games.
But from the third game on, FZD found LGY's weakness. He basically served short to LGY's middle and FH side. LGY had no real answer to that and lost the match quickly after.
This is something that Ma Long and Timo Boll do exceptionally well--identifying an opponent's weakness and ruthlessly exploiting it.
I'm really surprised to see FZD employing the tactic so effectively when he's still so young. Kudos to FZD on the victory and his growth. I wonder how much better he will get.

Agreed, though there were quite a few half long serves against Boll, which were brilliant. Boll had some trouble returning quality attacks or good short returns on those serves. FZD is smart enough to not serve long against LGY though. Dima tested the water with LGY with fast long serves late game... Let's just say that the result was less than satisfactory for Dima.

All the players wear a shoe made for TT. My experience, slipping doesn't happen unless there is a problem with the floor, usually means a little dust, could have got on the shoes from the walk to the court, need to wipe the shoes before playing with a wet rag.
