This year they will be held from January 14th to 20th in Osaka, thats why no Japanese player will show up in the ITTF Hungarian Open.
Last year, in the Men's final, Harimoto ended Mizutani's reign while Ito also won her first crown in Women's finals and also won Doubles and Mixed Doubles to be a triple champion !
here is the official site http://www.japantabletennis.com/zennihon2019/ (http://www.japantabletennis.com/zennihon2019/)
Lets post links and discuss here !

Possible options in the W.S.
(my opinion may be wrong ...)http://mytabletennis.net/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif
To go to the top four, Mima Ito will need to play with Miyu Maeda, and if she wins either with Ando Minami or Hashimoto Honoka ...
To get into the top four, Miu Hirano will have to beat Morizono Mizuki, and then Sato Hitomi.
To get into the top four, Kasumi Ishikawa will have to beat Hayata Hina, then Marina Matsuzawa or Shibata Saki.
the fourth participant is either Kato Miyu or Nagasaki Miyu ...

the level is very high and there is also an extra special prize to the winner:
a participation in the World Championships in Hungary later this year

Suppose Mima Ito wins ...But she, after all, without this victory guarantees herself participation in Hungary ....

for WTTC, they will choose
- the winner of Japan National Championships
- the winner of the Qualification Tournament (they merged this event with the Top12 for this time)
- basically the 3 best ranked players
if there is some slots available because one of the 3 best ranked players wins 1 or 2 of the first listed events, they will attribute 1 or 2 wild cards [probably to a young promising player]

If Harimoto and Mima win the National Champs and Top 12 (Which they probably will..) I hope Yukiya Uda gets one of the wild cards. He seems very promising for me.

I would like Hina Hayata to come to Hungary ....
How big are her chances of becoming the winner of a qualifying tournament?

I think the number of the match.
Those are match numbers on the brackets. Take 1401, for example, 1 = Men's Singles, 4 = 4th round, 01 = Match 1.
1 = MS, 2 = WS, 3 = MD, 4 = WD, 5 = XD, 6 = JB, 7 = JG
You can use that number to look up the match table @ http://live.jtta.or.jp/match. The time shown will be adjusted to your time zone.

Odo took out Kihara...
Nagasaki has so much trouble playing long pips(or medium?) she literally started weeping after dropping game 3.
Biggest upset thus far

On course with my prediction.

At this rate, Nagazaki will drop off the radar. She's only less than 2 years younger than Ito and the likes. If CNT's experience applies as well for JNT, she will live under their shadows and fade away. Kihara has it a little better given those 2 extra years, but it will still be difficult for her.

Yay for Odo. She's been handling Kihara really well last 12 month. Love how Shitenno keep nurturing very good players into excellent players.
It's great to see both Kihara and Nagasaki losing to the players they have been dominating in U8, U10 and U12 Nationals. Shows you can always catch up after you hit teens.

Soon the time of truth ....
Hayata vs. Ishikawa ...
And for Mima Ito, perhaps a serious test ...
Mayhem continues for Nagasaki in the remainging WD. Poor Kihara... Maki Shiomi, who was competing for prominence on the JNT with Saki Shibata, is finally making some splash with partner Yuuka Umemura here.
Hayata looking really sharp so far, but now that WS is Ishikawa's last hope, anything is possible.
Hirano ousted by Kihara, the very person who looks up to her. Rather, Hirano did that to herself. She's so brutal now, always looking to end it quick.
Big win for Kihara, she is clearly a bigger talent than Nagasaki. But for Hirano....she looked so promising long time ago but lately she seems to be get worse and worse.

Hayata turning Ishilawa into a sieve...

Wouldn't be surprised if Harimoto loses. He really struggled in the previous round against Tazoe. He seems to be out of form, that or maybe because he is the favorite and expected winner he can't handle to pressure.

naaahhhh he's gonna win it easily. In tournaments, the eventual winner has always one difficult match in road to the title, not necessary the final itself. Its been a warning to him, he won't repeat the same mistakes twice.

This might be the same case as it was in Youth Olympics where he had 2 difficult matches against Pletea and Lin Yun Ju in the road to the final and then in the final itself he got steamrolled by WCQ. And let me remind you that he was the favorite in that tournament as well.
The match against Tazoe was nothing. It was the previous round against Ryotaro Ogata where Harimoto was down 1:6 in game 7 that had people on the edge.

Actually off topic. I am curios. Japanese are admired of Harimoto. Harimoto is like Ovtcharov. is Ovtcharov realy German? It does not sound German actually his parents are ukrainian. Why Zhang surname is forced to change to Harimoto ? Ovtcharov still has has his original name. Would it look bad that Best japanese is Zhang?
No not really. Ovtcharov was born in Ukraine and is German now while Harimoto was born in Japan.

I watched Hayata v Ishikawa.
I've never seen Ishikawa been REKT so much. Hayata was way too fast for her. What was most impressive to me was Hayata's BH. She was taking the ball really early agressively and always long, and able to make very good -and unusual- placement , like for example from the middle of the table with BH, ball going on the FH short side of the table (both are lefties)
Hayata won the 1st round of the JNT qualification tournament last month, winning 10 matches dropping only 1 set. Has she reached a new level ? She's never done anything yet against CNT but I want to see her next matches

This marks the 1st time in 12 years that Ishikawa fails to make the QF. Whatever the case, it's about time for Hayata to step up (http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=78834&PID=975648&title=2017-korea-open-18-23-apr-2017#975648). Li Sun actually commented at the ATTC 2017 that the CNT viewed Hayata as having the most potential.
Painful upset.

Ito VS Hayata
The poorest opening imaginable for Hayata in game 1, with Ito winning the next 8 points after a 2:0 lead. Closed the gap but still dropping 7:11.
Game 2 was tight and IMHO was vital to Hayata. Despite all that, Ito still tested a new serve but sent it right into net and Hayata had a chance to make it 9:7 serving at 7:7, but missed one crucial FH winner. 9:11.
Game 3 proceeded in favor of Ito. Hayata kept playing the catch-up game. 7:11.
Game 4 is the one Hayata and fans alike were expecting. Still, Hayata missed her initiative, again serving at 7:7. 9:11.
Ito 4:0 Hayata. No contest.

I didn't see the match, however I do know that Ishikawa has, on other occasions, looked passed opponents by not taking them sufficiently serious. I do not know the head-to-head record between them, but I'm quite sure it very strongly favors Ishikawa. Ishikawa, thinking about the match up with Ito for many months, likely wasn't ready for an improved Hayata and thus Hayata rolled.
All praise to Hayata!!

Hi,
I recall the look on Mizutani's face after he lost in this tournament last year. That told me he would re-dedicate, as is his history. This understanding comes as from discussions with Mizutani's former coach who was a senior coach at the Werner Schlager Academy. He indicated to me the specialness of Mizutani, including a respect for the hard training, even to the cost of reducing formal competitions.
A great champion!

And in fact Mizutani played extremely dominant this tournament, I wonder if the new rubber was a key factor for this performance.
