Hey guys,
I'm kinda looking for some tacky and hard rubber, but some of them people was saying that is not fast enough and need more phisical effort to make the ball go fast, like DHS H3 NEO and normal one. So what rubber's would you recommend? If you recommend some national/regional, what's the big difference for the normal commercialized rubber?

If you want a tacky and hard rubber you will have always to put a certain amount of physical effort. What I use now it's 729-08 49º. It's similar to H3 Neo Provincial, but the topsheet is a little bit softer. Great quality and very durable(around 14$) Seems it's a bit harder to hit and drive, but I gain a bunch of points in my serve and in third ball attack. It's a spin monster.

I take the risk to sound a bit obsolete, but being desperate to find a tacky, hard and fast rubber I topped quite a bit one of mine Thor's and got exactly what I was looking for. So far so good, but it doesn't mean that I will stop searching for even better solution

where'd you buy it? i was taken with dhs H3 neo national 40º, but it's too expensive, and the normal version people say that it's not fast enough, like the other normal rubber from dhs

There are plenty of tacky and hard rubbers out there, but not fast

I've tried H3 NEO Blue Sponge(One from a probably old batch and one more recent) and 729-08 Pro 47º.

The old H3 NEO BS (40º) was pretty nice. The topsheet felt harder than 729-08. It seemed easier to hit, but with 729-08 seems it's much easier to make a dangerous 3rd ball and easier to serve, maybe due to softer topsheet.

The newer H3 NEO (41º) felt not so nice. The topsheet was less tackier than the previous one that I've tried.

The 729-08 Pro felt nice, topsheet less tacky than Commercial 729-08 but was a nice rubber. Unfortunately the rubber only goes from 45º to 47º and it felt too soft for my FH, as the topsheet is soft. with a softer sponge(729 47º ~= DHS 38º/39º) and soft topsheet it feels that the rubber bottomed out on hard hits.

The 729-08 49º felt perfect to me. Tacky(I know turns the rubber slower, but it's a characteristic that I like on the rubber). It's heavy, which I also like, but I put many layers of glue and boost it. But I prefer pay around 15$ for this instead of having a free batch of Tenergy. This rubber is suits me perfectly! :)

Tested also 729 Origin 45º on BH so for FH I can't give feedback, but the rubber felt nice also!!

But I think it's a matter of taste and praticing!

The fastest hard and tacky rubber I've ever tried has been Gambler Burst Thor's Hammer sponge. I'm a low intermediate/late beginner so take it for what you will, but it's actually too much for me to handle sometimes. Spin is extremely high, I feel like it's more than Hurricanes, even on serves. Throw is higher than traditional Chinese rubbers too. No factory boosting and my sheet that's 4 months old is the same as the sheet I got a month ago.

Boost the neo H3.

I think a hard tacky rubber could be very fast. But not when you do not do anything, but if you put in the effort you proably can play much harder with a harder rubber than with a soft one. I know that Wang Liqin used to play with a very hard rubber.

my two cents, good value - 729 Battle II Prov or B/S if you want faster. I prefer the Prov

Sanwei Target National, Stiga Genesis series, Tibhar Hybrid K1. Just do some search on Euro Chinese hybrid and you will find plenty out there. Seriously though, just get a commercial or provincial H3 and boost it with FTL. It's hard to beat this set up if you are into tacky rubbers

Sanwei just released Target Pro. It's said to be harder and faster than Target National. I have not tried it yet, so I can't say how well how they compare.

I have the target pro blue and red. The original target national is still harder. The newer ones are easier to spin with.

Thanks, Yogi! I saw some pictures comparing both versions side by side. It seems the Pro version has shorter pips and a thinner top sheet.
Do you personally prefer the Pro version or National version?

Red one is slower, it has a classic chinese sponge. The pro blue national seem easier to use and feels a tad softer. I like the pro blue since it is better for hitting aside from spinning the ball.

Does it have a tacky topsheet? I didn't know Donic Blue Storm is a tacky rubber.

maybe im not understanding very well what a tacky rubber is, can you please compare two rubbers for me order to have a clear understanding between both, i thought tacky meant to have a very spin and rotation ( because it has a very tacky surface )

Oh, tacky rubber means the topsheet is very sticky. The ball can stick to the top and not fall off. DHS Hurricane 3 is the most common tacky rubber.

ohh well thanks for the explanation Usualsuspect, now the answer is no, the Donic Bluestorm Z1 Turbo is not that sticky but is really fast and hard, my set up is so fast that a really good player tested my paddle and asked me if i use any boost.

i haven't use a sticky rubber i don't know the difference in their performance

Stiga Genesis 2 M is also very good as what have been suggested by other people.
