Hi,

on fh I am choosing between Stiga Mantra S 1.9 and Stiga Airoc S 1.8. So, if you have any experience with rubbers - pls rate it from 1 to 10 (10 is the best). I use Butterly Innerforce layer ALC and don't want to much speed on rubber... Currrently on fh Donic JP03 1.8 - good, but low durability...

Also if you have any comparison with any other similar rubber that you experienced - and if you have any recomandation - let me know.

Stiga Mantra S 1.9:
- Speed (1 to 10): __
- control (1 to 10): __
- spin (1 to 10): __
- return on serves (1 to 10): __
- durablity (1 to 10): __

Stiga Airoc S 1.8:
- Speed (1 to 10): __
- control (1 to 10): __
- spin (1 to 10): __
- return on serves (1 to 10): __
- durablity (1 to 10): __

Any other similar rubber________________:
- Speed (1 to 10): __
- control (1 to 10): __
- spin (1 to 10): __
- return on serves (1 to 10): __
- durablity (1 to 10): __

Best regards

I don't think it a very useful excercise to approach rubber selection suitable to your game and tastes this way, but then again, sometimes crowd wisdom does turn up something.

If it does, it won't be here, I think. You could have a look at:

- Mantra S at revspin, https://revspin.net/rubber/stiga-mantra-s.html
- Airoc S at same, https://revspin.net/rubber/stiga-airoc-s.html
- Others at same

The more people offering a rating, the more statistical validity the resulting average (or mean, weighted average, of average with extreme outliers suppressed, whatever your stance on social statistics methodology) would be, in the wisdom of the crowd book.

I have no first hand experience with either, but hold Mantra M in high esteem.

If you are considering Airoc, I recommend the Genesis instead. It's more like a euro jap rubber, but has a chinese topsheet. Although not as tacky.
The speed: like 8-8.5?
Spin: similar to tenergy 05, but more. So like a 10
Receive well chinese topsheet so doesn't pop out fast, so a 9
Durability: I play every single day for 6 hours and it has lasted me a good 7 months. So goes on for a long time. You may like the Genesis a bit better than the other 2 you are looking at.
Control like a 10
For a good summary it's
Spin: 10
Speed: 8-8.5
Control: 10
Returns: 10
Durability: 10+ baby

Thanks for reply.

Which hardness is for Genesis M - 45 degrees, less, more?
Which hardness is for Genesis S - 42 degrees, less, more?

I prefer medium rubbers on fh - not to soft and not to hard...

Genesis M is like about 43-44.5? It actually feels nice. It's like a tenergy 05, but more control and slightly more spin. usually I would tell people to try rubbers, but as a general idea I think Genesis might be good.

Genesis soft is like a 36. If you are looking fora 42 degree rubber then I recommend the Andro R42. Similar qualities, but slightly bouncier. Honestly there is no perfect rubber out there, but for me I find Genesis 2 m perfect for me, but I also find Andro not bad as well. you and I have similar rubber characteristic taste. So glad to help.

Many rubbers have similar speeds to R42. Which is very speedy.

"A little more bounce" means, in practice, that you have very little leeway. If you don't contact the ball just so it flies off uncontrollably. Some seem to like that, because when hitting it just so you can get a lot of speed, a lot of pressure, with relatively little effort.

Me, I'm growing fonder and fonder of landing the ball on the other table half more or less reliably, so I'm appreciating that "little more bounce" less and less.
