I'm only interested in how far Yui Hamamoto fares, especially if she encounters a fellow Japanese.

U21 men singles R64

USA Nicholas Tio 3-2 Ivor Ban Croatia

Tio was a little stronger in a match with both players making some great shots.

USA Ye Tian 3-0 Tilen Cvetko Slovenia

RPB Tian demonstrated a great style. He played like the legend Waldner.

05-09-2019, 10:13 AM
There are also two Greeks in the tournament, Panagiotis Gionis (defender, yes there some of them left) and Sgouropoulos Ioannis (attacker, age 19, U21 European champion 2018 & 2019 )

Sgouropoulos is playing in both Men's and U21 Men's, just won 3-0 the Swedish Barius for U21 and is in the 32 of Under21. I have an eye on him, he looks very promising young player!

# 15 Seed USA Lily Zhang vs Adriana Diaz Puerto Rico # 1 seed

Lily is capable of the upset

05-11-2019, 12:59 PM

Lily Zhang upset the #1 seed Adriana Diaz in a great match 4-2

The key Lily was able to limit Adriana's signature bh punch down the 4h line. That shot won Adriana the US Open a couple of years ago.

USA Lily Zhang 2-4 Margaryta Pesotska Ukraine WR#48

After being up 2-1, next game Lily got a little careless probably thinking she had the match, could have won the game. A good match that Lily could have won.

Sad Yui Hamamoto is out. Although I dont like her for TT skills , she certainly looks cute. Rare mix of Japanese cuteness with a tall frame ( Sorry if I offended someone)

05-12-2019, 03:00 PM
Women's Final

Ukraine Margaryta Pesotska 3-4 Georgina Pota Hungary

Great match past deuce in the 7th

05-12-2019, 03:09 PM
Pota wins a very close final deuce in the 7th (15-13). She seems to play more topspin on the forehand now.

Now... come on, Jakob!
