Why does nittaku only give 1.8 and 2.0 sponge thickness

maybe their rubber is slightly thicker (by 0.1 mm). I can't tell if this is true by looking at G-1 I have.

it is also possible that they provide some room for error in their sponge thickness that could vary from batch to batch. in other words, their sponge thickness is more variable than that of other manufacturers.

actually, i have no idea if ESN makes both the sponge and the rubber. even if this is the case, different formulations of sponge could result in more or less variability between batches.
