Apologies first if this is covered already, but I'm back in China again and can't access the old youtube videos.

For step arounds do you prefer "small jumps" or bringing the feet together and push method?

My old coach stressed small jumps only, but first session with a new coach insisted that I bring the feet together and then push.

Not sure if my hypothesis is right, but is it fair to say that small steps are better for hitting on the move, while the push-off method covers bigger distance?

Has anyone had long term experiments with either? Or do you use either depending on the situation? In the last case, how do you judge?

Also, any thoughts on a full cross step into the backhand side (not the standard step around return cross step).

Thanks.
