hi ttd can someone explain to me how plastic balls work. There seems to be so much variation between brand to brand. Is there only a few factories making all these balls?

That's a great post you've linked, but there's now DJ40+ as well...do you know how are those different ?
World Cup and ITTF Finals will be played with these balls.
DJ40+ is just the D40+ with even tighter tolerances in weight, roundness and hardness.

And there are Abros 40+ *** ITTF balls made in Korea:

I can't read the text, but the numbers look the same for the previous "WT" ball and the new DJ40W ball. So is there a difference?

The Abros ball is good and consistent in roundness. This is made in Korea, the first from that country I think.

The irony of it being "used" at the Busan WTTC and Tokyo Olympics 2020
Especially when all of them have the "balls" to not lic...ahem, to not use balls other than their own.
