Could not get my fingers around it comfortably and i did not want to start customising it, plays very well though, so will look to get it in Cpen

It looks great. If I am still using PH, I would've consider it seriously. But, the back of the blade is black, so is the rubber.

yes, can always change to red, but i just wanted to use a black one at the time

The wood of the Darker Speed 90 is amazing. If you are playing penhold that is one of the best blades out there. One risky thing about that blade though, because it is a 1 ply Hinoki blade, the blade breaks easily. There are times when it will just split in half right at one of the grains of wood simply because it is one ply. But, for someone who takes care of it, who likes a JPen handle, that is an amazing blade.

The Shakehand versions feel great too, but the 10mm is too thick for serving shakehand. One ply blades are vastly better for penhold grip than for shakehand grip. But, no matter what, that blade plays like a dream if the handle is right for you.
