The London 2012 Olympics is getting closer and closer even though there are still 3 World Tours left to play first. The Chinese National Team clearly sees this as a great opportunity to test their players's form, as they've taken the top 5 seeds in Men's event and the top 3 seeds in Women's Singles similar to that of the Korean Open last week. Korea, Japan and Singapore fill most of the other seeds, while sadly just a small amount of European players have entered the tournament.

Ma Long, the World #1 enters the tournament as the #1 seed.

There are over a 100 more entries than last weeks Korean Open World Tour, so we should be in for some real treats! Will there be some more major upsets, such as Ma Long losing to Lee Sang Su last week? Will Ma Long prove why he's the number 1 seed or will rival compatriot Zhang Jike or Xu Xin disrupt his progress? And what about Koki Niwa, who beat Ma Long during the 'Asian Olympic Qualifications' final? We can use this thread as a means to display all the latest results, videos and news from this spectacular event! What are your predictions from each event?

Very interesting doubles pair Xu Xin and Wang Liqin .. hummmm !!!! :)

haha that does sound like a very interesting pairing. Not sure how well it would work. They would have incredible reach, and would be amazing at the midrange game.

Jörgen Persson reached the quarter finals in Korea, with less europeans and more Chinese and Asians it is going to be tough, but he might get to the quarters again. And if that happens, he could go all the way as well! Remember his first 3 sets againts ZJK, that was NOT bad table tennis! :D

Hadn't he also won the Korean open before it started?

Btw, there is a difference between threat and thread..

Agree with you JustAlt!

One can not tell the future, unless someone is cheating.. But I don't think that is happening, so the only thing we can do i guess! :)
