The ITTF have released the latest World rankings! The rankings were published by the International Table Tennis Federation on Thursday 1st November 2012.

--- Grand Slammer Zhang Jike still World No.1---

Zhang Jike managed to win the WTTC, Men's Singles World Cup AND the Olympic Games in the past year and a half which makes him the obvious World No.1. Zhang Jike has owned the top spot for half a year now.

Germany's Timo Boll strengthens his top 5 position after yet again showing his quality on the European field: This is his sixth time winning the Men's singles Gold at the ETTC. His final opponent was rather a surprise though. Croatia's Tan Ruiwu posted three upsets earlier against Adrien Mattenet, Dmitrij Ovtcharov and Bastian Steger respectively. This gave his world ranking a huge boost: a leap from the 73rd to the 41st place.

Another players who has done well past month is Andrej Gacina. After a great start in the DTTL he knocked out both Marcos Freitas and Bojan Tokic in the main draw before playing some amazing rallies against Timo Boll in the quarter final. Result is a jump over 10 places to become the nr.32.

The Women's World ranking shows less big changes. Viktoria Pavlovich passes Wu Jiaduo by winning the Women's title at the ETTC for the second time. Impressive; the last time she reached her current 16th spot was back in 2006.

Other interesting changes:

76 (87) Patrick Franziska
80 (101) Daniel Gorak

What do you all think of the new world rankings? Will Zhang Jike ever leave the top spot? Is Timo Boll going to pass Wang Hao? Will Dmitrij Ovtcharov return in the top 10 soon? Let's discuss!

Thanks so much for this discussion Steven! Always appreciate your content with the world rankings! :) Looks like Dimitrij Ovtcharov dropped a place due to Tan Ruiwu. Tan Ruiwu is an interesting player he has been around for so long and has always been dangerous. I hope 2013 we see more of him :)
