2013 GAC Group 26th Table Tennis Asian Cup, 12 Apr 2013 - 14 Apr, Queen Elizabeth Stadium, Hong Kong

This weekend from Friday the 12th to Sunday 14th April will see the 2013 GAC Group 26th Asian Cup which will be staged in Hong Kong. China's Xu Xin and Liu Shiwen will look to defend their titles which they won just one year ago. Both players are the star names of the event. This competition is the qualification step for the Men's and Women's World Cup which will be held this September.

Beware of Yan An.. from what i see is his fh top spin is too much power.. and he earn a lot point from it.. the skil he is using is also a bit different from other chinese player.. thats why maybe he got some problem in playing with some chopper player because less variety of top spin( well compare to others chinese player).. by the way i have see no problem from his recent game against korean chopper.. :p:p:D:D:D

And Xu Xin, the player with perfect footwork and has unbelivable fh top spin( mostly side spin) I think will win this tournament.. because now he is on fire.. the new tactical game of his which playing a bit in front of table and very good flick on the table make him win over ma long in korea.. i think he would use his speciality again in this game.. :what::D:D:D:D:thumbup::thumbup:

Unfortunately for him, he had not enough consistency to finish him off, making too many errors in the game.
But if you see the tactics, Xu Xin is helpless against it, when Yan An puts it on the table.
Counter topspin into backhand side and the next down the line, Xu Xin is finished, even with his superb footwork, he cant beat that tactics..
Ma Long and Zhang Jike they know this pretty well and unless Xu Xin finds something else out, he wont be able to win in Paris this year..
The way for him is to play more backhand topspins, no other way..

Actually it is due to it looks easy to to do it than actually to execute it. If you see most of the topspin to topspin. Player seldom do a straight line topspin return, but usually the cross court, because it is more precise.

As for Xu Xin, what coaches and ex-player mention about him before is that once he got something good in his mind, he will put some different creativity in his play, this cause that the opponent feel alittle could not get used to it. But this only happens when he is "on fire" mode.
