Hi All,
Here's my latest interview, with Will Bayley, world number 2 ranked paralympian.
Story of A Million Forehands: The Road to the 2012 Paralympics with Will Bayley
One thing we talked about that I found very interesting is when Will was reclassified in 2007 into a much tougher class (In table tennis, athletes are put into one of 10 classes based on their abilities) and how he stayed motivated despite this setback to get to his current ranking of world number 2.
Other things we discussed include:
• Will’s development as a player; His past results and his preparation for the 2012 paralympics including;
• Challenging skills he had difficulty mastering
• His goals between now and the 2012 paralympics
• Where and how many hours a week he trains
• His mental and tactical approach to the game
• His sponsorship deals and his advice for other players/clubs looking for sponsorship
• And of course, where his passion for table tennis comes from
