I am going against the norm, and voting for Wang Hao. Unfortunately, Ma Long just isn't in or close to his top form at the moment, he still is damn good, but against the top Chinese players right now, his form just doesn't cut it. In his game against Xu Xin, his movement speed was just so slow comparatively. I felt that even his complexion isn't as healthy as his normal.

I don't really see anyone in the upper half who can provide a really good match against Xu Xin, Ma Lin would be the best possibility. At the moment, a Xu Xin and Wang Hao match would almost be just even odds I think. Wang Hao had a good chance of winning against him in Qatar, and was ahead like 8-4 in the final 7th game, but then lost.

I find it odd that Boll isn't participating. Dubai and Qatar are pretty close, so its not too much work to just travel there. Plus the prize money is always good in these countries.

I can't decide who I think will win but I want Jun Mitzutani to do well because I like his table tennis.

I don't know, Jun Mizutani is so insanely good at blocking, and his reaction rate is so good for that, that I feel like he is often too eager to back off from the table for his own good. I think it would be better for him to just try to stay closer to the table, work on his offense, even if in the beginning it might not have good results.

Good points,, I agree Wang Hao is the man! Very odd way he lost to Xu Xin in the Qatar Open,

I think Timo Boll is thinking about rest, its not easy playing sport with a back injury he has, he is probably managing around it and preparing well for tournaments. I think this is what Boll does well.. He prepares for what he does.
