I heard that Xiaoxia has already applied for cancelling the match, and is permitted by the team. Now just waiting for ittf's confirmation. It's a pity for her to loss such a good opportunity since her first World Cup title in 2008.

I agree, if she had been able to follow through and win this world cup then she would be in the same position as Zhang Jike was, holding all 3 grand slam titles at one given time, it would have been a great achievement for her ESPECIALLY considering she also succeeded where he failed in winning the Chinese National Games.

Totally agree, injuries are so annoying at times! Zhang Jike may even withdraw from the Men's World Cup to.

personally I dont care about "at the same time". It's OK to grasp the titles no matter one time or not. What makes me feel unhappy is that she loses a good chance to start her second grand slam journey(if possible). She'll have another chance next year to enter World Cup directly as the reigning World Champion. But next year has new challenge, like new balls, oncoming Asian Games....What's more, as the first lady in women's team, I'm kind of worry about there won't be too many chances for her to play in World Cup, because it is less important that world champ and olympic game. Anyway, hope she'll be in good condition, waiting for next opportunity.

Thanks for the update @strideforward we have changed the seeds. Wu Yang has replaced Li Xiaoxia due to her injury.
