I have played with this rubber for about 1 or 2 months and it feels like the rubber is perfectly smooth. I only play on weekends for about 2 hours with it.

If you clean the dust off the rubber after you play with a damp soft sponge, or an actual rubber cleaner, and kept the bat and rubber from direct sun-light or extreme heat or cold. It should last you at least 6 months to 1 year before you have to change. but this rubber life-span also depend on how hard and spiny you play and playing against, what rubber it is(Chinese, japanese, European, korean, etc) some rubbers are stronger than others.

the obvious clues would be: you hit the ball with the same strength and spin as you normally do, and yet the speed and spin it generate is less than it usually is.

Yep, clearly there is a problem with your racket care or you have some really bad quality rubbers that doesn't last long - like those premade bats.
what rubbers to you use and how to you look after it?
