Hi all, I am an experienced player and can loop well from the forehand, block, push and sometimes loop with the backhand. The game is becoming stale for me and I want to learn to be a defensive player. I already have the donic Defplay Senso blade. I was just wondering what good LP could I use on the backhand as well as a soft good looping/chopping rubber for the forehand, cheers :)

I know most pimple players, at least in Scandinavia, now are using the Spinlord Dornenglanz, that is great for push, block and chop.

As for the forehand side, you want a good rubber for chop and loop.. The Bluefire JP01 is very very good for that, also the Tenergy series are good, but they cost a little extra. The Rasant aint very good for chopping, but for looping it's top notch. But I would go with the Bluefire JP01 on the forehand :)

For the LP rubber it defends what you prefer. OX pimples or pips on sponge.
TSP curl P1 is one of the best long pips with sponge rubbers for chopping.

For forehand there are a lot of rubbers that can suit you. Tenergy 64 is great for chopping and very good in looping.
But if you know how to chop correctly you will not have problem with any of the new modern rubbers, and tensors from esn

Thanks for the suggestions guys! :D I have been using for a while at my local club mucking around between matches with the Palio CK531-A. the reversal on serves is insane! But it lacks control when chopping. I also have a sheet of Feint Long off a friend, might chuck it on my Defplay and give it a crack

That is how you do it. Try it out yourself in a low risk situation to learn a little about it if it is something you want to pursue.

When I was in Korea, it seemed 80% plus of EVERY Woman play over 40 yrs old played OX LP backhand with a Schlager Carbon blade and a FH control rubber. They played close to the table punch underspin or block topspin. It is WIERD to play against at first if you never saw such a playing style. I got myself a real cheepo LP in OX, glued it to a spare blade, slapped on a used FH rubber and a few times a month, I played Achuma style OX LP close to table to see firsthand what they are doing and how to setup/finish. This helped me out a lot and I had a lot of success vs this style.

That doesn't mean that I will be an OX LP user anytime soon, but sometimes, it helps to slap something you are interested in on a spare blade and go at it to see for yourself how it works. Sometimes you do this by testing a mate's bat.

You have a good approach to learn if it is for you, then your next step is also good, asking around exactly how to go about it and get coached.
