At least 85% of the blade by thickness shall be of natural wood; an adhesive layer within the blade may be reinforced with fibrous material such as carbon fibre, glass fibre or compressed paper, but shall not be thicker than 7.5% of the total thickness or 0.35mm, whichever is the smaller.

Each blade is in plys of wood, the more plys the heavier and faster the blade I have heard, I know someone with an 11 ply hinoki wood blade which is fast but it's so heavy I find it uncomfortable to play with. Other than that there are carbon fibres added and I think also they may have done some crystal fibre bats correct me if I'm mistaken.

This is a link to a thread from the Ooak Forums which lists the blade compositions of a great # of popular blades. This is hugely helpful in finding out what kind of blades work best for your style of play.
