Ovtcharov using a blue sponged rubber on the fh!

This weekend I watched the German Open on TV, and I knew from before that Dima used Tenergy and has been a bit annoyed that he doesn't use Donic equipment when he is sponsored by Donic, so I have tried to get a look at his racket to see if he might change..

At two different points when Dima served, you could clearly see what appear to be some kind of Bluefire rubber on his forehand due to the blue sponge! Are Donic able to compete with Butterfly now? Sure looks like it! I can only imagine what it would mean to the masses and to Donics sales if players knew Dima is actually using Donic rubbers, not only promoting them and using Tenergy instead.

Im so sorry to not have any pictures to prove it, but I'm sure if this is his new setup we will see more of it!

Is that picture from the German Open? Anyway I only saw the blue sponge in the final, and based on the clothing that picture is not from the final.. Ofc he is not likely to change during the tournament, but heck, I am sure I saw a blue sponge on the black side

It was intresting to see when Dima was smashing forehand sevaral times he chance to the backhanrubber. Same as CNT players do. So i wonder if Dima is playing with H3 or is Tenergy 05 so boosted and soft, its difficult to smash with it.

It is from German Open 2014 but not final. Sponge colour is real hard to spot with thick side tape covering up everything.

I noticed Dima switching rubbers on smashing to. Richard Prause when commentating said Ovtcharov is doing this because he is likely finding his backhand runner faster and harder.

If you also look closely on his forehand technique, you can see it has changed a bit, maybe an adapt to a new rubber?

Got any time stamp of video link or capture to share? I can see he was still using Tenergy in the semi 1 day before final. Really can't imagine anyone on that level will change to a totally new FH rubber just for the final game.

You are not saying the sponge on this pic is blue, are you?

There is no blue sponge rubber on his forehand. Andres, i think you didn't saw that rubber correctly

both sides tenergy 05 ? i don't think so because when he want smash he switched to red side that's mean they are not same rubber , right ?

Yes dima use tenergy 05 on both sides, for me he change the rubber to smash because, dima use booster

The pic I post is from the semi with Apolonia. You can see the pattern of Tenergy. Any pic to support what you see ?
