When playing table tennis, my hand holding the racket sometimes hits the ball. The ball usually lands on the other persons side , but whose point is it?
As Der_Echte said it's legal to hit the ball with your fingers. Even i know someone who serves with his finger while holding the bat and his serves are as legal as us!
The rule is meant to take the controversy out of accidental hits to the hand including double hits. But it leaves a big loophole for those who want to take advantage.
Please note though that you can't hit the ball with a hand that doesn't hold a bat. So if you accidently let it slip from your hand you aren't allowed to use your hand to keep playing.
It's legal if it hits your hand anywhere up to your wrist. The rule also changed to allow double contact now too so if it hits your hand then your bat, you can still win the point too.
